Visited Tonle Sap today. Read about it years back in Sejarah and i totally forgot about it =/. An hour boat ride down the stretch of Tonle Sap river was very much memorable, a mixed of anxiety, empathy and gratefulness.
Tonle Sap
They've got everything on the river, well practically everything from grocery shops to schools to kopitiam to church. That's where the name floating village came from i supposed?
Oh and not to forget, our boat got hijacked. Okay that's a strong word. The locals jumped onto our boat and start selling foods and beverages. So much of a good service and survivor? I was SHOCKED and SCARED alright! but again...people are trying to earn a living.
Depicting what life is like for those who are poor. In this third world country, some poverty stricken people struggle to survive. They have to live day to day not knowing if they will have a full meal, much less any scraps to eat. Begging for money, seen bathing in the river, facing hygiene issue. If you are not contented with life, take a look at these people.
When i count my blessings, i count yours twice :)
